Recommended Season

• Best Sowing Season: Winter / Cool Season (roughly September to November in most of India)
• Cabbage forms the best heads in cool weather.

Sowing Instructions

Sow the seeds about 0.5–1 cm deep in seedling trays or small pots filled with fine, well-draining seed-starting mix. Keep the mix lightly moist until germination.

When the seedlings have 4–6 true leaves (usually 4–5 weeks), transplant them into large containers or garden beds, leaving enough space for each head to grow.

Sunlight & Care

Place the plants where they get at least 5–6 hours of sunlight daily. Water regularly to keep the soil evenly moist, and feed with well-decomposed compost or vermicompost every few weeks. Check the leaves regularly for caterpillars and aphids; neem oil spray can help keep pests in check.

Harvesting

Harvest when the heads feel firm and solid when pressed. Cut the head at the base with a clean knife.
