Bring tall, vibrant colour to your winter garden with Gladiolus, one of the most loved cut flowers in India. Each bulb sends up a tall, elegant spike lined with large, ruffled blooms that open one after another from bottom to top, giving a long-lasting show in the garden and in the vase.

This mixed-colour set brings a cheerful variety of shades, which may include red, pink, white, yellow, orange, purple and bi-colours. Gladiolus grows well in pots, grow bags, flower beds and garden borders, and is perfect for bouquets, pooja and home decoration.

Planting Instructions

Plant the bulbs approximately 8–10 cm deep in loose, fertile and well-draining soil, with the pointed end facing upward. Space them about 10–15 cm apart. A 10–12 inch pot can hold 2–3 bulbs.

Water thoroughly after planting, then keep the soil lightly moist. Shoots usually appear in 2–3 weeks. Use containers with proper drainage holes and avoid waterlogging, as wet soil can rot the bulbs.

For a longer flowering season, plant the bulbs in batches 2–3 weeks apart.

Light and Water Requirements

Gladiolus needs full sunlight, ideally 6–8 hours of direct sun daily, for strong spikes and good flowering.

Water when the upper layer of soil begins to dry. Keep the soil moderately moist during active growth and flowering, but avoid overwatering.

Plant Care

Add well-decomposed compost or a balanced flowering-plant fertiliser once the leaves are about 15 cm tall, and again when the flower spike appears. Tall spikes may need a stick for support, especially in windy spots.

Flowering usually begins 70–90 days after planting. For vases, cut the spike when the lowest 2–3 buds start to show colour; the rest will open indoors.

After flowering, let the leaves remain until they turn yellow naturally. Then lift the bulbs, dry them in shade and store them in a cool, dry place for the next season.

Package Includes:
5 Gladiolus mixed-colour bulbs.

Note: Flower colours are assorted and cannot be selected. Bulb size, plant height, flower colour, number of spikes and blooming time may vary depending on bulb maturity, climate, season, sunlight, soil conditions and growing care. Product images show mature flowering plants for reference.
